A little about the photographer
As a portrait artist, Mark Smith’s passion for the art of portraiture began with a legacy (or two). His grandmother fostered his habit for capturing the world around him, from focus to film, she’d supply him the tools necessary to hone his craft. A likeness she’d gleaned from her son—Mark’s father, who adored capturing the world through the lens of his vintage Argus C3. Together, Mark and his father moved through the ranks of evolving shutter-speed and aperture functions of Canon camera equipment, until adulthood, where Mark decided to make photography his livelihood. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Professional Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology, roughly 50 years ago. Today, he continues to challenge himself, adjust the business to the times, and attempt his hand in new genres.
